At My Wits End

3 times in the past week, I’ve come home to find that T had (from what I can tell), pooped in his crate, ate it (most likely because he didn’t want it in there), and thrown up the putrid smelling crap he had just consumed.

1st time ...last Friday... it was raining in the morning and he was show ZERO interest in wanting to/having to poop. So I figured he’d wait until lunch. Then when I came home from lunch 5 hours later, I found that shit-smelling vomit all over the outside of his crate and coating his legs... and his ears were laid back. There were also brown smudges all over his pad in his crate.

2nd time ... Monday... I came home for lunch as usual and T went potty (only #1, as usual), played around a bit, and got 2 small biscuits before going back into his crate for 2 hours before hubby came home. Hubby came home (2 hours later) to find the same thing I found the last time.

3rd time ... today ... T ate some of his food, then he went out and pooped and peed like usual before going in his crate for 5 hours, until I come home for lunch. When I came home ... I found that same old stinky stain in his crate and as soon as he came out of it, bleh... he vomited up the shitty smelling crap all over the floor. When I took him outside... he threw up the rest of it, peed but wouldn’t poop.

He is fine other wise... eats, drinks, plays etc. He also is NEVER interested in eating poop at any other times.

Still, I called the vet. He said it was normal for dogs to eat their poop in their crates... and then to throw it up afterwards (since it was something the body originally tried to get rid of in the first place ) All they could suggest was feeding him 3 pieces of raw spinach to make the poop taste bad.... but I don’t think he is eating it because of the taste, but because it is in his “den”.

The only other time T has done this, was in the middle of the night a month or so ago... Our best guess for pooping off schedule then was his medicine.

This time, I'm thinking it is because F is in his crate in the other room. I think he knows his bruddah is there, but is upset because he can't be with him. Or maybe I'm just wishful thinking.

I feel so bad for the guy.. This CANNOT be pleasant! ...not to mention me having to clean it up
