F is 11 weeks old this week. Last Wednesday he weighed in at 2.2lbs. Tomorrow he goes to the vet again, for the sniffles, so we’ll See what he weighs now. Hopefully he is up to 2.5 lbs, but I’d love to see him at 3 lbs! Though I’m sure that is a long shot.
While he isn’t growing much, the vet says it is enough and he is healthy. I also notice that he is developing in other ways...the little munchkin can already climb stairs (going down is a different story though), sit on command, and stand on his hind legs and do what refer to as "circus walk". I’m loving him more and more every day.
....night time is a different story. Grrrrr. We stopped letting him sleep in our bed (he kept deciding that it was play time in the middle of the night and started licking and biting at us to get us to play) and our now attempting to crate train him. He is a whiner, let me tell you. He is out running around with T from 5:00pm until 9:00pm when we go to bed. Then he wakes up crying at 11:00pm, 1:00am, and 3:00am .. .before finally deciding that 5:00am is wake-up for good time.
The crate is on the floor in our room, and last night we bought a heating pad to keep in there with him since he gets cold easily. He was up several time through out the night though... I think part of it has to do with his sniffles (that he is going to the vet for tomorrow).
He first started sniffling January 1
st. He went to the vet on the 3
rd for shots and the vet said that since the discharge is clear and it isn’t a constant congestion, and his lungs sound clear, that it wasn’t much to worry about and to just watch it. Here we are, a week later, and his congestion is getting a little worse at night, so I called the vet again and he’ll go in tomorrow. The congestion is mostly at night, and the discharge is still clear, so they don’t think it is anything serious, but they might be able to give him something to help him get over it. We’ll see.
I’ll update tomorrow on his weight and sniffles. We have also started measuring his body.. Here are last night’s measurements:
Chest (measured at widest point, around rib cage): 10"
Body (measured from collar to butt): 6.5"
Height (measured from ground to top of front shoulder): 6.5"
We’ll have more measurements next week.
