Happy Birthday

On the 23rd, F turned 3 months and weighed 4.4lbs. However, when I measured him... he was the same size as last week. So, I am assuming I did it wrong last week when I measured with out B's help.

This past week I also had a birthday.... filled with MANY, MANY calories! I still have not recovered from those meals!

Here he is January 24th, weighing 4.4lbs...

Bladder Control Update

We've had noticeably fewer accidents in the house as of this past weekend - our first full weekend at home with F.

He's been going outside with his big brother more often, and we've strategically placed piddle pads in the areas he frequents IN the house to do his business. We have also kept a better eye on him.

Something else that is helping with his house breaking, crate training. He finally LOVES his crate! He doesn't make a peep when he goes in there, he sleeps through the night, and he doesn't mind being in there when people are over (and we can't keep a constant eye on him).

T has also had a break through .. we have him on an eating schedule now and he hasn't pooped or eaten eat in a week! Hooray! I also made the executive decision to de-crate him! He has officially had free roam of the living room, dining room, and kitchen for a week now.... with out any accidents! He is such a big boy!

I'll have more measurements tonight, along with pictures of the pups... but I do want to mention that F weighed over 3.5lbs today! Go F!

Doggone Crazy

F’s vet appointment went well today. He now weighs..... get this .... a whopping 3 POUNDS! Hooray F! That is all on dry food too! Last week he was 2.2lbs and this week he is 3 lbs! When the vet saw him he said, "Wow, he is really filling out!"

He got an anti-inflammatory shot, the vet said that will dry him up & he got some meds. Still has clear discharge and it isn’t in his lungs... so it isn’t anything to be worried about.

Last night, F slept straight through the night until 5:00 am - In. His. Crate. Awesome. I got a full night of sleep for the first time since we brought the booger home! Needless to say, I’m feeling pretty good today.

T on the other hand ... has decided that he is pretty jealous of his little brother. He has been pooping in his crate during the day and then he’ll eat it and eventually throw it back up. Now let me tell you.... vomited dog poop is by FAR ... THE WORST smelling crap EVER.... even worse than anal gland leakage.

He has started pooping off schedule, and I am trying to figure out why. I think it has to do with the fact that he is on a different food schedule now that we have F. We have been so focused on making sure F is eating, that we haven’t been monitoring T’s food intake. Therefor, he is eating at odd times of the day and eating more than usual. Which is THEN causing him to poop more often than usual.... sometimes in his crate. When there is poop in his crate, he eats it for two reasons, because he doesn’t want poop in his "den", it is an natural instinct for dogs, and because he doesn’t want to disappoint us.

Last night he didn’t poop like he normally does, but I was contributing that to the fact that he pooped around lunch time in his crate instead. After I got out of the shower this morning, I found poop on the living room floor, from T. I looked at T and he laid his ears back and gave me this look as if he were saying, "I’m sorry Mom. I didn’t mean to. Don’t yell." Of course the only thing I could think of was.... at least he didn’t eat it!

T also pooped 30 minutes later outside. All have been regular, hard poops and he is eating normally. I just think he has gotten off schedule.

Black Mail

Here it is, ten days into the new year and I have YET to update about the drunken party that took place at M&C’s on New Year’s Eve. What a shame... and there are so many incriminating pictures to share as well....

Well, better late than never, right?

Like I mentioned above, M&C threw a big ole shindig with about 15 friends. A merry time was had by all. There was a smorgasbord of shrimp, taco bell enchiritos, and gnocchi (just to name a few) in the pot-luck-style dinner. We played board games that we carelessly turned into drinking games and the we some how turned the living room into a dance floor where several naughty moves were performed (I know there are videos out there somewhere).

I ended up toasted by 8:00pm, when everyone else was just getting started. Needless to say, I made a fool of myself.

Here is the album with some of the pictures taken from that night....

Slower than the DMV

F is 11 weeks old this week. Last Wednesday he weighed in at 2.2lbs. Tomorrow he goes to the vet again, for the sniffles, so we’ll See what he weighs now. Hopefully he is up to 2.5 lbs, but I’d love to see him at 3 lbs! Though I’m sure that is a long shot.

While he isn’t growing much, the vet says it is enough and he is healthy. I also notice that he is developing in other ways...the little munchkin can already climb stairs (going down is a different story though), sit on command, and stand on his hind legs and do what refer to as "circus walk". I’m loving him more and more every day.

....night time is a different story. Grrrrr. We stopped letting him sleep in our bed (he kept deciding that it was play time in the middle of the night and started licking and biting at us to get us to play) and our now attempting to crate train him. He is a whiner, let me tell you. He is out running around with T from 5:00pm until 9:00pm when we go to bed. Then he wakes up crying at 11:00pm, 1:00am, and 3:00am .. .before finally deciding that 5:00am is wake-up for good time.

The crate is on the floor in our room, and last night we bought a heating pad to keep in there with him since he gets cold easily. He was up several time through out the night though... I think part of it has to do with his sniffles (that he is going to the vet for tomorrow).

He first started sniffling January 1st. He went to the vet on the 3rd for shots and the vet said that since the discharge is clear and it isn’t a constant congestion, and his lungs sound clear, that it wasn’t much to worry about and to just watch it. Here we are, a week later, and his congestion is getting a little worse at night, so I called the vet again and he’ll go in tomorrow. The congestion is mostly at night, and the discharge is still clear, so they don’t think it is anything serious, but they might be able to give him something to help him get over it. We’ll see.

I’ll update tomorrow on his weight and sniffles. We have also started measuring his body.. Here are last night’s measurements:

Chest (measured at widest point, around rib cage): 10"

Body (measured from collar to butt): 6.5"

Height (measured from ground to top of front shoulder): 6.5"

We’ll have more measurements next week.

Happy New Year!

That is it for now....I'll write more later.
