Well Restrained

We picked up a few harnesses for the boys today. One size small Gentle Leader Easy Walker for F (Petsmart). One size medium Sense-ation Harness for T (from our local hippie-crunchy dog store).

( We had to buy different harnesses because Petsmart didn't have T's size.)

The harnesses are essentially the same... right down to the blue tag sewn on to the top, left side of the harness identifying the brand. They are designed to stop pulling and let me tell you ... they work! Who needs obedience class when you have a fabulous torture device.. I mean harness! (Just kidding)

So, we went outside for a walk.. just me and my two chariot horses dogs. By golly, you would have thought I had to well trained dogs heeling properly by my sides. Our walks are going to be so much easier now that my dogs are so well restrained behaved.

Here they are, modeling their new gear....

I'm guilty of using the magical powers of Easy Cheese for evil....

Where My Stitches At?

I'm home sick. We were supposed to visit friends in San Francisco this weekend, but instead, my body has been invaded by gnarley cold bug. So, I'm making the most of a snotty situation.... I'm trying to learn to knit. I'll try and photograph my "progress" (if you can call it that).

Autumn

Sunday will be the first day of Fall, my favorite season.

Not much has happened in the last month (since I last updated). Summer came to an official end with the seasons first snow fall (in the mountains at least) and a brisk wind which lowered the previously 90 degree temps to to a crisp 65.

In late August, M&C were gracious enough to invite us along to see the Gypsy Kings with them. The concert was great. Though I wasn't expecting there to be so many old folks in attendance! And, I must admit, C and I were a tad bit disappointed that The Gypsy Kings didn't perform their rendition of Hotel California.

Labor Day weekend brought sad news and unexpected visit from my husband's brother. He flew in for a friend's funeral, so we spent the weekend with him and other family members in Tule Lake.

We finished out the summer with a nice BBQ (husband's work related function) where we saw John Ondrasikwith Five For Fighting (for a private party, in an outdoor amphitheater of about 200 people). He performed a half dozen or so songs.. he sang and played the piano. I highly recommend seeing him live if you get a chance.

The Air Races were last weekend, and B's grandfather and Aunt were in town for those. We had a ball hanging out with everyone while they were here. We were even able to have B's grandpa stay at our place for a few days. B and his Grandpa got in some quality time ... napping together every afternoon!

Last weekend, I was also busy photographing a friend of a friends wedding. It was my first wedding and while I'm not overly pleased with my pictures... It was a learning experience. I walked away from the experience realizing that I still have LOTS to learn before I do another wedding!

I'll leave you with a few pictures....

Here I am with John Ondrasik:

Here are a few shots from the wedding I shot:
