Nope. Sorry. Not going to happen.
Their credit card machine was down, did I have any cash on me? Ha. In this day in age? I save my cash for tipping the bartender! So, I pulled out of line and headed home to let the dogs out.
The craving stayed with me, and not be able to have it made it worse. So, I headed to the ATM to pull out $20 and back in the drive-thru line I went. This time, I ordered and had a crisp bill in hand to pay for my sustenance. The McDonald's employee and I exchanged goods. I drove to a shady spot and opened my sack, pulled out a (surprisingly light) box... only to find a box of chicken tenders. Not curiously non-chicken-like-nuggets.. but real, chicken tenders. Blah. Who wants that?
That meant I had to get out of my car and head back inside and explain that my order was wrong. I finally got my southern style chicken sandwich and dashed for the car. I couldn't wait to devour it!
Guess what? That sandwich wasn't very good. There's nothing on it but two pickles! Ugh. I think the fried-crispy-goodness gods must have been trying to warn me. I should have paid attention.

How anticlimactic! Bummer! I know when I splurge on fast food I want it to be WEEEEEELLLLL WORTH IT. Which means I usually go for old faithful... nachos from Albertacos! Hmmm... I'm craving it now. Thanks.
OH our Jack in the Box Tacos! 2 monster taco combo meal. The best.
sometimes you just can't fight the urge to try something, even if the food gods are trying to drive you away, haha.
Ick. I know what you mean... Same thing happened to me last week, but I wasn't wearing shoes. I drove 30 minutes to the next closest mcdonalds. :)
I hate it when places don't have their credit card machines working. I suppose it isn't their fault, but they need to have some kind of back-up plan in place!
Gosh I hate that when that happens. Not only trouble with the debit machine but then not get the wrong order and have the one you want be bad? Sucks. I'm sorry.
so here's the thing...back in the south we have a fast food place called chick-fil-a and guess what they serve. chicken. their signature sandwich that their entire restaurant is based on is a chicken sandwich on a bun with two pickles. i haven't had the mcdonald's one but the chick-fil-a one is good.
The original (the Chick-fil-A one) is so much better! Though McDonald's has been pushing their version pretty hard out here...they've done two free giveaways and we've taken advantage of it both times!
Yes, I am familiar with Chic-Fil-A ... oh so familiar. Their crinkle fries, sweet tea, and closed on sundays self. Mmmm. But let me tell you ... this McDonald's Southern Chicken sammie ... was NO chic-fil-a.
I wish McDonald's wouldn't try to be Chick-Fil-A.
Although, since we don't have them here in Chicago, I was hoping the McDonald's sammich would be like Chick-Fil-A. I'm sad it is not.
And now I want waffle fries.
Another funny change on the McDonald's menu...In Kingsport (Northeast TN/Southwest VA) we have this fast food place called Pal's and it's the most amazing ever! Well it has the best sweet tea - a 32 oz. sweet tea for 85 cents, formally 75 cents. McDonald's was loosing so much business to them in the area that they came in with their 32 oz tea and spread it across the south. It really seemed to work because now it's out here in San Fran.
